Cervical Surgery for Spinal Cord Compression

Muralee is after surgery to decompress his cervical spinal cord. He had significant spinal cord compression that required removal of bone (laminectomy) and stabilization of his spine (fusion). The underlying problem was ossification of the posterior longitudinal ligament. This condition narrows the spinal canal and can result in spinal cord compression and formation of myelopathy. The procedure performed was a C2-C6 laminectomy and fusion.
