Moderate, Stable That Required Surgery at Age 20
Gina’s right thoracic curve stayed stable for several years. As she grew older, she was not happy with her shoulder position and the large hump on her back. Therefore, she decided to have a similar selective thoracic fusion as KellyAnn. She rode a jetski within a few months of surgery, and is very happy with her body.

Scoliosis That Kept Getting Getting Bigger After Skeletal Maturity
Kelly Ann was 12 years old when we met. Her curve progressed to 25 degrees, so we began bracing her. Despite the brace, her curve increased to 40 degrees. By 16 years old, the curve continued to increase to over 48 degrees, so a “selective thoracic fusion” was recommended and performed. KellyAnn did great. We intentionally left the bottom of our instrumentation tilted to accommodate the lower curve and avoid an overly long fusion.
