Dr. Baluch obtained both his medical degree and training in Orthopaedic Surgery at Loyola University Medical Center in Maywood, Illinois. He then completed a fellowship in Spine Surgery at OrthoCarolina in Charlotte, North Carolina. A Chicago native, Dr. Baluch returned to practice at the Illinois Spine & Scoliosis Center in August 2016.
As simple as it may sound, Dr. Baluch believes strongly in establishing the correct diagnosis. This means closely listening to the patient’s concerns and correlating those with the physical examination and x-ray or MRI findings. Once the source of symptoms is identified, it can then be properly treated. The vast majority of spinal conditions can be treated successfully without surgery, provided that the cause of pain is targeted appropriately.
Dr. Baluch sees patients of all ages – from pediatric to geriatric – and is capable of treating all spinal pathology. His surgical interests include motion-preserving surgery such as cervical disc replacements but will spend time to individualize the appropriate operation for the patient. Outside of medicine, Dr. Baluch enjoys spending time with his wife, dog, and friends/family as well as fishing and exercising.
