Dr. Rinella is extremely dedicated to helping indigent children around the world with severe spinal deformities. More importantly, he is dedicated to teaching local surgeons to take care of their own people through direct surgical training, education and research. To help with this endeavor, he founded SpineHope with two other specialists.
Dr. Rinella is extremely dedicated to helping indigent children around the world with severe spinal deformities. Dr. Rinella first traveled to Cali, Colombia in November 2004, and is planning to complete his 9th trip in May 2009. During the week-long trip, he evaluates 50-60 children, and his team performs 10-15 major surgeries. He is constantly trying to recruit the top surgeons to help him train local spine surgeons around the world in the latest scoliosis and spinal reconstructive techniques.
